Baoji, China - The Baoji Aviation Technology Application Association recently held its First Annual General Meeting (Fourth Session) alongside the Dual-Certificate Integrated Talent Excellence Program Conference, where China's first all-titanium drone was officially unveiled and completed its maiden flight.
The all-titanium drone weighs just 10 kg, carries a payload of up to 20 kg, and offers a flight endurance of 50 minutes. Every structural component of the aircraft is manufactured from commercially pure titanium metal, representing a deep integration of technological innovation and industrial application.
"Taking advantage of Baoji's well-established titanium industry supply chain, we began R&D at the start of this year," said the research team. "Compared with conventional drones, the titanium drone offers significant advantages - lighter weight, superior corrosion resistance, high-temperature tolerance, and exceptional structural strength. Looking ahead, we plan to deploy titanium drones across education and training, emergency rescue, logistics transport, agricultural crop protection, and more. This marks a new direction of innovation in aviation technology and will inject fresh momentum into Baoji's aviation technology application sector."
In recent years, drones have seen increasingly widespread adoption in emergency rescue, disaster prevention and mitigation, and public service, emerging as a vital aerial force for safeguarding cities and protecting lives and property. On the same day, Baoji's first public-benefit drone rescue unit - the Baoji Aviation Technology Application Association Public-Benefit Drone Rescue Brigade - was officially established, filling a gap in the city's professional drone-based public rescue capabilities and bolstering its broader emergency response infrastructure.
"The purpose of establishing this rescue brigade is to continuously extend the practical advantages of drone technology into new domains," said Li Bing, Captain of the Brigade. "Going forward, we will focus on locating missing persons, delivering emergency supplies, conducting disaster-site surveys, and other critical missions - contributing our share of 'blue-sky strength' to protecting the well-being of the community."
