GR5 Titanium Square Bar

Overview
GR5 Titanium Square Bar is manufactured from Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) titanium alloy - the workhorse alloy of aerospace, motorsport, and critical industrial applications. Its square cross-section provides parallel faces for efficient clamping in CNC machining, eliminating the waste and setup time of turning round bar into square profiles.
Available in side lengths from 8mm to 200mm, in annealed (soft) or solution-treated-and-aged (STA) conditions. Ground surface finish (h9 tolerance) ensures ready-to-machine stock with ±0.05mm dimensional accuracy.
Produced in Baoji with full ASTM B348 compliance and EN 10204 Type 3.1 documentation. From CNC-machined brackets and bearing blocks to structural fasteners and aerospace fixtures.

GR23 (ELI) vs Standard GR5
Both are Ti-6Al-4V. But for implants, the chemistry of GR23 is tighter - and that matters.
GR5 - Ti-6Al-4V
High-strength titanium alloy. The standard for aerospace brackets, racing components, and critical marine hardware.
| Density | 4.43 g/cm³ |
| UTS | ≥ 895 MPa |
| Specific Strength | 202 MPa·cm³/g |
| Corrosion | Excellent |
| Max Temp | 400°C |
| Machinability | Moderate |
✓ Best strength-to-weight ratio
GR2 - CP Titanium
Commercially pure titanium. Softer and easier to form - but half the strength of GR5 alloy.
| Density | 4.51 g/cm³ |
| UTS | ≥ 345 MPa |
| Specific Strength | 77 MPa·cm³/g |
| Corrosion | Excellent |
| Max Temp | 300°C |
| Machinability | Good |
Easier to machine & form
The verdict: GR5 has 3.3× the specific strength of 316L stainless - and 2.6× that of GR2 CP titanium. In aerospace, racing, and marine environments where every gram matters and failure is not an option, GR5 square bar is the obvious choice. In chloride environments, GR5 outlasts stainless 10–20× - the material cost delta pays for itself many times over.
Why Square Bar?
Square bar provides parallel flat faces for direct clamping in CNC vises and fixtures - eliminating the need for special workholding that round bar requires. For brackets, bearing blocks, plates, and structural components, square stock means less waste, faster setup, and more consistent machining.

Final Inspection & Release
100% dimensional check (side, straightness, squareness). Tensile and hardness per lot. UT per bar ≥ 50mm. EN 10204 Type 3.1 MTC. Full lot traceability from ingot to bar.
Why Engineers Choose GR5 Titanium Square Bar
Six properties that make Ti-6Al-4V square bar the premium structural stock.
895 MPa High Strength
Nearly double 316L stainless. Handles structural loads in brackets, fasteners, and fixtures without adding weight. STA condition available for 1,100+ MPa.
43% Lighter Than Steel
4.43 vs 7.99 g/cm³. In a 5kg steel assembly, switching to GR5 saves 2.2kg. Critical for aerospace, racing, and portable equipment.
CNC-Ready Square Profile
Parallel faces for direct vise clamping. No turning round-to-square waste. Ground finish (h9) ensures clean, predictable material removal.
Corrosion Immune
TiO₂ passive layer resists seawater, chlorides, hydraulic fluid, and industrial chemicals. Zero rust, zero staining, zero maintenance in corrosive service.
Dimensional Precision
h9 tolerance: ±0.03mm for bars ≤ 50mm. Tighter h8 available on request. Straightness within 0.5mm per 1000mm. Consistent from bar to bar.

Tolerances You Can Plan Around
Every bar dimensionally inspected. Values below are guaranteed minimums - actual results are often tighter.h9
Ground Surface Finish
Standard delivery: h9 tolerance on all four faces. ±0.025mm for bars 6–30mm; ±0.05mm for 30–120mm. Surface roughness Ra ≤ 1.6μm.
Precision Tolerance
h8 tolerance available for critical components: ±0.018mm for bars ≤ 30mm. Specify "precision ground" with your order.
Straightness
Bars ≤ 100mm straightness within 0.5mm/meter. Bars 100–200mm within 1.0mm/meter. Stress-relieved condition for best straightness.
Surface Finish
Ground surface Ra ≤ 1.6μm. Mill finish Ra 3.2–6.3μm for rough machining stock. Polished (Ra ≤ 0.8μm) available on request.
Length Tolerance
Standard saw-cut length ±0.5mm. Precision-cut ±0.2mm available. Standard lengths 500–3000mm. Custom lengths to specification.
Squareness
Face-to-face squareness within ±1.5° per 100mm length. For precision applications, machined blanks with tighter squareness available.
Where GR5 Titanium Square Bar Goes to Work
From jet engine brackets to offshore valves - square bar stock for the toughest environments.

Aerospace
Brackets & Structural Fittings
Engine mount brackets, landing gear fittings, airframe supports. GR5 square bar's high strength-to-weight ratio is critical in every kilogram of aircraft structure.

Motorsport
Racing Car Hardware
Suspension arms, pedal boxes, shift linkages, mounting brackets. Titanium square bar reduces unsprung mass and resists the harshest racing environments.

FAQ
Q: Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
A: We are a professional and experienced titanium products manufacturer in China.
Q: Can you provide customized processing?
A: Yes. Baoji Yibaite supports cutting, bending, stamping, CNC machining, and deep drawing according to customer drawings.
Q: What is the delivery time?
A: Regular size in stock within 3–7 days; customized production about 10–15 working days.
Q: What's the difference between square bar and round bar?
A: Same material, same standard. The difference is the cross-section. Square bar gives you flat reference surfaces for machining, fixturing, and bolting - less setup time on the mill compared to starting from round stock. Round bar is more versatile for turned parts and shafts. If your final part has square or rectangular features, starting from square bar can save you machining time and tool wear.
Q: What surface finishes are available?
A: Pickled surface, polished, brushed, sandblasted, and mirror finish are all optional.
