- The density of GR5 titanium plate is about 4.51g/cm³, so it is lighter than many other metals. The elastic modulus is from 105 to 116 GPa. In addition, it also has good thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity. At the same time, the Gr5 titanium plate has high strength and high toughness. Its tensile strength is commonly above 925MPa. The yield strength is above 870MPa. The elongation is above 10%.
- Gr5 titanium alloy, called TC4 (Ti-6Al-4V) in China, is the earliest and most widely used titanium alloy in the world. Its output accounts for more than half of the total production of various titanium alloy semi-finished products in the world, and more than 80% in the aerospace industry. Al improves the strength and thermal strength of the alloy at room temperature by strengthening the α phase in solid solution, while V improves both the strength and the plasticity. V also can restrain the formation of α2 superstructural phase and avoid alloy embrittlement during long-term use.

Application
- At present, the domestic pure titanium plate is mainly used in chemical industry, petroleum, pharmaceutical field and other fields. The traditional plate rolling method is generally used to produce pure titanium plate. In the other two regions, titanium ingot smelting, slab forging, plate rolling, and product use are dispersed to different manufacturers, and the industrial chain is relatively incomplete.
- Gr5 titanium alloy plate is mainly used in aerospace, ship manufacturing and other fields. A small part of the plates is used for the emerging sporting goods and other industries. Due to the characteristics of high strength and low plasticity, titanium alloy sheet is not easy to process. And the chip rolling method is generally used to produce titanium alloy sheet in the world. The domestic titanium alloy plate can be produced the titanium alloy thick plate of the maximum thickness of 100mm and the titanium alloy thin plate of the thinnest 0.3mm.
