Ti6Al4V Titanium Alloy Rod

Overview
Ti6Al4V (Grade 5) is an alpha-beta titanium alloy. It accounts for more than half of all titanium used worldwide. The alloy has a density of 4.43 g/cm³, roughly 56% that of steel, while its tensile strength ranges from 860 to 1100 MPa depending on heat treatment. It also resists corrosion in most physiological and industrial environments and is biocompatible per ISO 10993. These properties make it suitable for applications where steel introduces excessive weight and aluminum does not provide adequate strength.
Manufactured in Baoji - China's Titanium Valley, our Ti6Al4V titanium rods are produced from 100% premium sponge titanium, subjected to precision vacuum arc remelting (VAR) and rigorous centerless grinding. Whether you require AMS 4928 for aerospace structures or ASTM F136 for medical implants, we supply fully traceable, high-precision stock tailored to your exact drawings.

Ti-6Al-4V vs. stainless steel - when does titanium make sense?
When you need weight savings (40% lighter), corrosion resistance (seawater, chemicals), or temperature capability (315°C vs 200°C for SS). Ti-6Al-4V costs 3–5× more per kg than 316L, but the total cost of ownership - lighter structures, zero corrosion replacement, longer service life - often favors titanium in aerospace, marine, chemical, and high-performance applications.
Final Testing & Certification
100% ultrasonic inspection. Tensile, hardness, microstructure, and dimensional verification per lot. EN 10204 Type 3.1 MTC with every shipment. Third-party inspection available on request.

Core Features
Strength-to-Weight Champion
At 895 MPa UTS and 4.43 g/cm³, Ti-6Al-4V delivers the highest specific strength of any common metal. Swap steel components for 40% weight savings - or swap aluminum for 60% more strength at the same section size.
High-Temperature Stability
Continuous service to 315°C (600°F), intermittent to 425°C. Maintains strength and resists creep where aluminum softens and steel becomes heavy. Ideal for engine-adjacent structures and exhaust systems.
Corrosion Immunity
Passive TiO₂ film resists seawater, chlorides, oxidizing acids, wet chlorine, and industrial atmospheres. Outlasts stainless steel 5–10× in marine and chemical environments - eliminating replacement costs.
Fatigue Performance
Fatigue limit ~500 MPa at 10⁷ cycles in annealed condition. Excellent fatigue crack growth resistance - especially in beta-annealed condition. Powers turbine blades, landing gear, and rotating components that can never fai
Machinability & Formability
While harder to machine than steel, modern carbide tooling and proper coolant strategy make Ti-6Al-4V highly productive. Annealed condition offers good cold formability for complex geometries and near-net-shape forgings.
Certified Quality & 100% Non-Destructive Inspection
