Therefore, in practical applications, it is essential to select the appropriate filter. What are the principles for selecting titanium tube filters?
Inlet and outlet diameters: In principle, the inlet and outlet diameters of the filter should not be smaller than the inlet diameter of the corresponding pump. Generally, they should be the same as the inlet diameter of the pipe.
Nominal pressure: The pressure rating of the filter should be determined based on the maximum pressure that may occur in the filtration pipeline.
Selection of filtration accuracy: The main consideration is the particle size of the impurities to be intercepted. It depends on the process requirements of the medium flow.
Filter material:
The material of the filter is generally selected to be the same as the material of the connected process pipeline. For different service conditions, filters made of cast iron, carbon steel, low alloy steel or stainless steel can be considered.
Calculation of resistance loss of water filters: For water filters, under the general calculation of rated flow rate, the pressure loss is 0.52 to 1.2 kPa. Only by selecting the appropriate filtration equipment can the ideal filtration effect be achieved.
Pharmaceutical Factory Application Example
In the pharmaceutical factory, each batch of decarbonization solution is between 100,000 and 200,000 ml (approximately 200 to 300 kilograms), and it is required to complete the filtering within 20 minutes. The flow rate should be from 600 to 900 Kg/h. It is recommended to use two-stage filtration. The first stage uses a 3-core 3um titanium tube filter without residual liquid, and the second stage uses a 3-core 1um titanium tube filter without residual liquid. If using a single-stage filtration, the filter should be a 5-cord 1-um titanium tube filter without residual liquid. The decarbonization filter is made of 304 stainless steel. According to the requirements of the pharmaceutical factory, we recommend using two-stage titanium tube filters without residual liquid. The first stage uses a 3-um titanium tube to intercept larger carbon particles, and the second stage uses a 1-um titanium tube. Through two stages of filtration, more than 99.5% of the activated carbon particles can be effectively intercepted.
